Snap on teeth have their good points and bad points.

The teeth simply snap on to your existing teeth in minutes you can have a celebrity smile modeled on your favourite celebrity, such as Halley Berry, Tom Cruise or your favorite film star. The snap on smile as they are also known are the best way to "test drive" a new smile before committing to the more permanent ans more expensive cosmetic dental priceed ures.

How are the snap on teeth made?

The pricess is two fold, firstly you have to visit a dentist, he takes x-rays, impressions (for plastic moulds) and measures your teeth. photo's are taken of the pre teeth and post teeth.

Next, for you and the dentist to get a quick preview of how your snap on teeth will look. Resin is applied to your teeth and toughened with a special light. The resin is scrupulously chiseled in to a custom grin, he/she takes more impressions and pictures, everything is sent off to the laboratory, in two weeks your new snap on teeth will be prepared.

The plus points of snap on teeth.

Snap on teeth give you the appearance of having the perfect smile without the cost and inconvenience of wearing retainers, getting veneers or caps.

They simply snap on to your existing teeth, no adhesive need be used.

Misaligned teeth, missing and discolored teeth will be covered up as the snap on's will fit up tight to your gums. A pain free method to get perfect teeth.

Minus points of snap on teeth.

This device has a short life span, not an abiding answer to your dental issues. Your new smile can be damaged by eating hard or crunchy foods. The teeth must be removed to be cleaned, fragments of food can lodge under the snap on teeth causing plague and discoloration to from if you don't clean both the new teeth and your existing teeth.

If you have a fear of the dentist then this is not for you.
Although there is no pain involved, no treatments or extractions, you still have to pay him a visit to get impressions of your teeth.. When the dentist is creating the moulds this can be an uncomfortable, although not painfull.

The snap on teeth are fragile.

It will take a little practice to communicate correctly with the snap on teeth in effect. If this is for a special occasion, make sure you have them in advance to get used to speaking and eating, it can be compared to wearing a retainer for the first time.

The cost, snap on teeth can range from $500 to $1800, for a temporary solution this can seem quiet expensive.

For cheaper but successful alternatives to snap on teeth, consider teeth whiteners and diy teeth whitening.

I am very interested on some snap on teeth but now I am being told that they are no longer just a simple price of 49 dollars and that that is just a starting pay and they can be as high as 1400.......... Is this true?      How do you know if you are getting the right price? and are they really worth getting?

  • desiedenise

Strange.  First, the individual posting the ad cannot spell and obviously does not know how to use the spell check feature on any computer.  Also, the individual commenting believes that you can purchase a set of "snap on" teeth for a mere $49.00!  Hmmm...perhaps an indication of the types of individuals doing the selling and the even more pitiful people interested in the "product".

@desiedenise - Pitiful people? really?   OHHH but i bet you are that person that sits back and pokes fun of crooked , mishapen and toothless individuals, right?? AT LEAST THEY ARE TRYING TO do self improvements........something YOU need to be doing on your personality!!!!!!!!

Yes, I also saw a television ad about snap-on teeth for a mere $49.00, was wondering if this was the same company. I think it's a great idea and am very interested also.Didn't get the website or number from the offer and I guess I'll have to keep my eyes open for the commercial again and take down the info.

I saw this ad on the tv and was so excited....I have been trying to do something about my teeth for a long time. I only have one question...How long do they actually last, because i am thinking about using snap on as a permnant solution. In order for me to get the spaces closed and my teeth straight i would have to spend over $2000.00. Snap On offers a better price with more advantages. These days going to the dentist is consider a luxury expense, verses what used to be years ago. Heath insurance is exspensive so dental insurance is not a option for me or my family.

I have been calling dentists all over my area about this as I am in real need of new teeth , it turns out the way it works is . #1 you go in for a consultation to see if you are eligible to have the snap on teeth if you are they take a mold of your teeth. #2 they send off the mold to the lab and the lab creates the teeth . #3 you return to the dentist and he/she does a fitting and adjusts them to fit nicely . #4 you pay for it and walk away with a much better smile . cost is $500 to $1800 depending on whether top and bottom are needed and how many teeth may be missing . now as for the ppl talking about $49 versions . there is another product out called secure smile and it is just a front facade of teeth and can not be used to eat with and are just a cosmetic solution . so beware of what commercial you are seeing as they are totally different things .
